Academics
In addition to general high school curriculum, FLA offers a number of honors-level and dual enrollment classes in conjunction with Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and Southern Adventist University. FLA offers three diploma programs:
- General Diploma requiring 24 credits and a minimum GPA of 2.00
- College Prep diploma requiring 24 credits and a minimum GPA of 2.50
- Honors Diploma with an emphasis in Humanities, Math, or Science requiring 24 credits plus a senior project and a minimum GPA of 3.75 to graduate (a 3.66 GPA is required to enter program)
Teachers are encouraged to teach with innovative teaching methods and attend seminars to stay current in the various teaching fields. Student progress is assessed in a variety of methods in addition to traditional written assessments, including both standardized tests and performance-based assessments.
