Dorm Services
Change: Change can be obtained from the Dean on Duty – No Advances!
Mail: Outgoing mail should be delivered to the Business Office by 11:00 am. Incoming mail is picked up from the business office after it is sorted (usually early afternoon). It is placed in the dean’s office and a mail list is posted to notify you that you have mail.
Maintenance Form: If there is a problem with your room or the laundry room, please fill out a form and turn it in to dean. When filling out the form give complete details about the problem. The dean will contact the maintenance staff.
Sick List: If a resident becomes ill on a regular school day:
-
The student should get up, shower and dress as they normally would for the morning and come to the lobby between 7:15 am and 8:00 am and notify the dean. The student will be sent to visit the nurse or she will come to the dorm if necessary.
-
In extreme cases where the student is so unwell that they are unable to walk to the lobby they must notify the dean, who will contact the nurse to make a house call or transport the student to emergency care, if needed.
-
The student who does not follow either of these steps will NOT be excused by either the dean or the nurse. The attendance office will not accept excuses from parents when they have not been present to evaluate the condition of their student.
-
The nurse or the dean will make the determination of whether or not the resident is to be placed on sick list and make arrangements for a doctor’s appointment.
-
When/if the student is placed on sick list the nurse, deans, cafeteria, and attendance officer will receive an email.
-
Students who are on sick list will be confined either to their rooms or the recovery room until 7:30 p.m. of the day they are placed on sick list, or will remain confined to the designated space if the nurse/dean deems it necessary to guard the health of other residents.
-
When a student who has been on sick list is well enough to return to normal activity an email will be sent to the above mentioned people stating that they are back.
-
If a student is considered to be ill enough to require monitoring, they will either be sent home or placed in a medical facility for the duration of their illness.
