Mission Trip
Forest Lake Academy sponsors a Mission Trip each year to provide students with an opportunity to experience the joy of serving others in a new culture.
This year from February 25 – March 7 2010, we will travel to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Los Pinos (The Pines) church will be able to have concrete floors, walls, and roof for a church. Every church in Mexico is lay lead. The members have a strong will to see their church building become a reality. At this time they meet in a Palapa or as we call it a straw hut. Regardless of the heat and rain members still run all forms ministries from their church, a testament of faith no matter the circumstances.
We will also conduct an evangelistic meeting and at Milagro (Miracle) church that started similarly as the above church did. God has been blessing the members of Milagro and they need our help to further the ministry and the Advent message. In conjunction with the evangelistic meetings we will also run a VBS program for the children who will be attending with their parents.

Since March of 2003 we have taken mission trips to Belize, Costa Rica, and Roatan, Honduras.
In Belize, we have been working in Santa Elena-just a few miles from the border of Guatemala. Our host there is the largest Christian radio station in Belize; Faith FM Belize. Past projects have included helping construct a school building, repairs at Faith FM's repeater site, and helping build a mission center. We also have presented VBS programs, live radio broadcasts, and other community service programming.
In Costa Rica we have traveled to Tamarindo, located along the Pacific Coast in the heart of some of the best surfing in the Americas. There, in partnership with Mission 517, we have been helping to establish a S.D.A. Christian presence through our work with the local public elementary and high schools. We have collected and distributed thousands of articles of clothing and engaged in a number of other community service projects. Our ultimate goal there is to help establish a summer camp that can serve the children in the area as well as provide a base of operations for future short-term mission groups.
In Roatan, Honduras we worked with the Bay Islands S.D.A. Mission to help build a church at Flower's Bay. We also conducted a Vacation Bible School, held Bible studies for local non-Adventist teenagers, and participated in other community service projects.
