Christian Character: Character + Skills = Success

At FLA, we believe true success comes when skills are built on the foundation of Christ-like character. Through discipleship and service, our students grow as leaders who live their faith in action.

Servant Leader

Juniors and seniors may choose the Servant Leadership class, where they gain practical ministry and leadership skills alongside personal growth. Juniors focus on team-building, peer mediation, conflict resolution, and mentoring while serving as mentors to freshmen in their Bible classes. Through object lessons and open conversations, they give younger students a safe place to ask questions about school, life, and faith. Seniors take their training deeper, learning discipleship, sermon creation, and church planting while connecting with pastors and preparing for lifelong service. They also plan and lead UNIFY small groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays and guide Wednesday chapels, reinforcing the week’s spiritual themes for the student body.

UNIFY Groups

Small groups are at the heart of connection and discipleship at FLA. They give students a place to belong, to pray with peers, and to grow together in faith. Seniors lead these groups each week, helping to create a campus culture where every student can be encouraged and supported.

Chapel Leadership

Chapel is one of the central rhythms of campus life at Forest Lake Academy. On Mondays, the school gathers for a brief “week ahead” chapel with a short devotional thought and prayer. Wednesdays are led by servant leaders, who guide small group chapels that build on the week’s UNIFY theme. Fridays bring the entire community together for an extended worship service, often featuring a guest speaker, student hosts, and praise teams leading the school in lifting their voices to God.

Campus Ministries

Campus Ministries gives students the opportunity to dream, plan, and lead spiritual initiatives across campus. From coordinating chapels to organizing praise teams and other ministry events, students step into leadership with the support of our campus pastor.

Revive Vespers

Revive Vespers, held on select Friday evenings, is one example—a time of worship, testimonies, and fellowship that deepens faith and strengthens community.

Mission Trips

Students extend their discipleship beyond campus through mission opportunities that bring the Gospel to life. This year’s mission trip offers students a chance to serve others in meaningful ways. For more information, contact VP Raiza Fernandez at [email protected]. 

Day of Caring

Twice each year, the entire student body participates in Day of Caring, serving throughout Apopka and the greater Orlando community. Inspired by Acts 20:35, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” students experience firsthand the joy of living for others.
